WHAT ELSE COULD MY FURNITURE NEED?

There are many things that an upholsterer might need to do or replace in your furniture. Any thing from frame repair, spring replacement, new padding and other items as they are required. Click here for a short primer that helps explain some of the things an Upholsterer may find or need to repair.

CAN I SUPPLY MY OWN FABRIC?

Most upholsterers will work with the customers fabric. However there are a few things to consider. Your upholsterer cannot guarantee your fabric against wearabilty or flaws. There are other supplies that are neccessary when upholstering a piece of furniture. To cover these costs, [which are generally covered in the cost of the fabric] most upholsterers have what is called a cutting charge, in addition to the labor charge. Overall you may not have saved money by suppyling your own fabric.

HOW DO I CHOOSE AN UPHOLSTERER?

That was one of the reasons this site was started. A group of Professionals and Artisans that have been in the field for a minimum of 5 years. Most of our members have been in operation for much longer than that. We tried to eliminate the need for you to just "take pot luck" so to speak, when choosing an upholsterer.

NEW VERSUS REUPHOLSTER

If your current furniture has a good frame and is comfortable and you like the style, then reupholstery may be your best choice. The finished product may cost almost as much as a moderately priced piece of new furniture, but you'll have exactly what you want and the fabric and materials used in the reupholstery will be of better quality.

IS YOUR WORK GUARANTEED?

All of our members guarantee their work. For exact details ask your upholsterer before you make a commitment.
